CHERRYSTONE RESULTADO DE LA SUBASTA MARZO 2013.

El pasado 12 de Marzo se realizò la subasta de la casa Cherrystone de New York, la colecciòn de sellos clàsicos del coleccionista Eivind Lund no se vendiò el precio base era de 100000 (Cien) mil dòlares.

387.ECUADOR 1811 (ca) undated wrapper to Quito with ms “4 ½ oz” weight endorsement and straight line “OTAVo” cancel in red, also ms “13 1/2r“ rating (weight 4 1/2 onzas, distance 23 leagues, parcel rate was 3 reales per onza), fine and scarce postmark (used from 1795 to 1833), only about ten exist, with 2003 Brian Moorhouse certificate.

388.ECUADOR 1826 (ca) undated wrapper from Riobamba to Ambato, with ms “10 3/4oz” weight endorsement and framed "Rioba/Ba” cancel in red, rated 3 reales (weight 10 3/4 onzas, distance 13 leagues), probably sent with the mail service from Lima to Quito on the route "Carrera de los Valles y Quito", (postmark used from 1825-1828), only 5-10 exist.

392.ECUADOR 1865 FL to Lima, Peru, franked with G.B. 6d lilac (pl.5, perfs trimmed at right), with Guayaquil Sep 29 departure cds and Lima (3 Oct) arrival on back. The letter was sent with the British mail service at the 6d to Peru, actually avoiding the more expensive mail (used 6d equaled 1 real, instead of the Ecuador rate of 2 reales to Peru). Eventually, the British Consulate stopped accepting such letters by October1866, due to government protest.
